Welcome to Metal-Expo’2007, the 13th International Industrial Exhibition which will be held on November 13-16, 2007 at the All-Russia Exhibition Center.

Hall 57

The following major sections of the ferrous industry are represented in the hall:

Ferrous metals: manufacturing process and products of ferrous metallurgy;
High conversion products of the ferrous industry: tubes and pipes, coated sheets, metal and steel products etc.;
Equipment for warehouses and steel service centers of the ferrous industry;
Steel processing: cutting and slitting, shaping and bending;
Transportation, logistics, warehouses in the ferrous metallurgy and metal and steel trading;
IT-technologies, online trading in the ferrous metallurgy;
Financing, investments, ensurance and leasing in the ferrous metallurgy.

Metal Week in Moscow, the largest in Russia and the CIS metallurgical forum was held on November 13 – 17, 2006. The key event of the forum became Metal-Expo’2006, the 12th International Specialized Exhibition.

The exhibition was organized by Metal-Expo, JSC, endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation, International Metallurgists Union, Russian Union of Metal Exporters, Russian Union of Metal and Steel Suppliers, The International Union of Metallurgical Equipment Producers (Metallurgmash), UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry), International Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, The All-Russia Exhibition Center, and patronized by Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.


According to Mr. Alexander Romanov, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Metal-Expo’2006, some 5 thousand general managers and specialists of metallurgical companies were working at the All-Russia Exhibition Center on November 14 --17. More than 7 thousand of visitors and more than 500 Director Generals of metallurgical companies came to the exhibition on the first day, November 14. All in all, more than 30 000 heads and specialists of metallurgical, metalworking, machine-building, building and other key industries visited the event.

Delegates of the forum could not help noticing the highest concentration of metallurgical elite at Metal Week in Moscow. A few thousands of delegates participated in some 60 business conferences, seminars, and presentations covering the whole spectrum of questions of the metallurgical industry. At the international conferences and business events leading specialist in metallurgy discussed the latest tendencies of the development of the industry and adjusted projects of its development in 2007-2008. The strategy that had been worked out by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation was tested at the Metal Week in Moscow and then adopted at the session of the government on November 16.


Another important event of Metal Week in Moscow became resuming of the Dialog about the enterprise and industry between Russia and EU. The round table for Russian officials and Mr. Abraao Carvalho, Head of Unit of Steel, Non-Ferrous Metals and Other Materials, European Commission of Enterprise and Industry Directorate-General held during Metal-Expo’2006 was very important in the light of Russia assessing WTO.

 

All in all, more than 700 companies from 30 countries set up their expositions in 3 halls of the All-Russia Exhibition Center. Such leaders of the Russian and international metallurgical industries as MMK, Severstal, Mechel, Pipe Metallurgical Company, United Metallurgical Company, Chelyabinsk Tube-Rolling Plant Group, EvrazHolding, SUAL-Holding, Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, Ilyich Mariupol Iron and Steel Works, Interpipe, Dneprospetsstal, Arcelor-Mittal, ThyssenKrupp, Outokumpu, Ruukki, Alcoa, Danieli, Techint / Pomini, RHI etc. presented their products and technologies within the 12 major segments of the metallurgical and similar industries represented at Metal-Expo’2006:

• Non-ferrous metals: manufacturing process and products of the non-ferrous metallurgy (hall 20);
• High conversion products: tubes and pipes, coated sheets, metal and steel products etc. (halls 20, 57);
• Equipment and technologies for the metallurgical and mining industries (hall 69);
• Raw materials for the metallurgical industry (hall 69);
• Equipment for warehouses and steel service centers (halls 20, 57, 69);
• Sheet processing: cutting, slitting, shaping, and bending (hall 57);

During the exhibition Russian enterprises were awarded with Metal-Expo gold and silver medals for engineering and application of new technologies, equipment and products.
Metal-Expo is one of the most successful projects in Russia. According to poll of Metal-Expo’2006 exhibitors, the majority of them considered efficiency of participation as high and confirmed their participation in Metal-Expo’2007.
