The International Exhibition on the Achievements of the Textile Industry of Turkmenistan during the Years of Independence and the Prospects for Development was held at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat. The large-scale forum organized by the Ministry of Textile Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan was organized to mark the remarkable date in the national calendar, the Day of Textile Worker of Turkmenistan.
The international textile exhibition in Ashgabat brought together over 130 representatives of the leading companies and firms from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Turkey, Korea, Russia, China and other countries, including long-term dependable partners and companies participating in the forum in the Turkmen capital.
The international exhibition became a big showcase presenting the whole spectrum of significant achievements of the Turkmen textile industry. Numerous pavilions of the Turkmen enterprises demonstrated a wide range of high quality commodities meeting international standards that are exported to many world countries. These include cotton yarn, silk filament, cotton fabric, denim, terrycloth, knitted fabric, ready-made garments, silk fabric – ketene and panne velvet, beautiful silk carpets – that is not a complete list of goods exhibited in the pavilions of the textile complexes from Geoktepe, Kipchak, Bayramali and Ashgabat, the Turkmenbashi denim complex, cotton spinning mills, clothing factories and filatures.
A great number of foreign participants, over 70 companies and firms that presented their innovations and achievements at the exhibition, vividly illustrated the keen interest of foreign partners in strengthening fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan in the textile industry. It should be noted that many of them are the world’s leading producers and suppliers of high-technology spinning, weaving and clothing equipment. The Demtex Turkmenistan Service Centre presented a jpint exposition of computer-aided systems and advanced technologies developed by the German companies, including Trutzschler, Schlafhorst, Their, Oerlikon, Volkmann, Terrot and other firms.
Turkish companies, which actively collaborate in construction of textile complexes and cotton spinning mills throughout Turkmenistan, presented the models of enterprises under construction.
The representatives of the Korean companies such as Huvis, Hyosung, Samshin, Paka, Ventex and others presented high technologies for manufacturing dyestuffs and other chemical products that were widely used at textile enterprises and equipment for dyeing fabrics and manufacturing synthetic fibre and fabrics.
President’s welcome address
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the welcome address to participants of the International Textile Exhibition and Economic Forum organized to mark the Day of Textile Worker of Turkmenistan.
“I congratulate you heartily on the opening of the International Textile Exhibition and Economic Forum organized to mark the significant holiday, the Day of Textile Worker of Turkmenistan,” said the Turkmen leader in his welcome address. “I wish you good health, family wellbeing, outstanding labour achievements that will bring Turkmen textile industry to new heights of progressive advance!
“I firmly believe that this exhibition and economic forum serve as a landmark in the popularization of outstanding achievements of the national textile industry in Turkmenistan and abroad.
“Taking consistent steps to promote the strategy of fundamental reforms in all sectors of the national economy, we create the optimal conditions for a happy and prosperous life of the hard-working people of Turkmenistan, whose selfless labour transforms the look of our towns and villages.
“The dynamically developing textile industry plays a critical role in the rapid economic progress of sovereign Turkmenistan. The years of independence have become a time of fundamental restructuring and modernization of the textile industry of our country. Centuries-old fame of the national craft of original homespun fabrics – ketene has been revived; the techniques of manufacturing delicate silk have need restored. Today, textile enterprises and factories equipped in compliance with highest standards and oriented towards manufacture of highly competitive commodities are the backbone of modern production infrastructure that is to ensure a sustainable economic growth. The large-scale cotton spinning factories in Dashoguz town and Geokdepe Etrap were put into operation, the factory in Ruhabat Etrap started to manufacture high-quality mixed cotton and synthetic yarn in 2010 alone.
“Textile enterprises under construction are equipped with innovative technologies and manufacturing equipment produced by leading European and Japanese companies. Within a short period of time Turkmenistan launched the production of high quality denim and terry fabric, knitted fabric, sateen, printed cotton, other kinds of textiles and broadened the range of finished products made from Today, the rating of the goods labelled “Made in Turkmenistan” in the pattern of customer demand on world markets is steadily high.
“The critical criteria for development of the national textile industry include environmental and safety management at textile enterprises. Vivid evidence for this is numerous international certificates and diplomas awarded by the authoritative international organisations for standardization to large-scale factories and complexes in Turkmenistan.“The role of dynamically developing positive international cooperation in effective modernization of industrial production through applying scientific advances and innovative technologies is crucial.
“The high level of development of the national textile industry achieved due to inspired and selfless labour of textile workers, true enthusiasm of our people, indeed, deserves presenting at this international forum that is to be an effective factor in showcasing indubitable achievements of one of the leading sectors of Turkmen economy to public at large.“I believe that the forum will provide an optimal platform for comprehensive acquaintance with the level of development of the textile sector of independent Turkmenistan and create the conditions conducive to the fruitful work of participants and guests of the international economic forum.
