The IV International Fair and scientific conference «A Book - the Way to the Cooperation and Progress» closed in Ashgabat. The exhibition spotlighted the outstanding achievements of Turkmenistan’s book publishing and printing industry, which had been conditioned by rapid development of the industry in the epoch of the grandiose changes and reforms. The participants of the scientific conference, which was conducted on the first day of the cultural forum, highly evaluated the high-quality and a great variety of the domestically produced print products that met international standards. The publishers, literary authors, educational workers and journalists underscored the academic and educational orientation of the book forum that reflected the remarkable changes taking place in the life of the Turkmen state and society.
The participants represented the world’s leading printing equipment producers such as Heidelberg (Austria), the Iranian manufacturers of silks screen printing equipment, who presented technological innovations - lamination and three-side printing. The large Russian private companies – Monoritm specialized in designing computer programmes and Paratype – the leader in producing great-primers made their debut for the book forum in Turkmenistan.

The book fair participants took part in the roundtables, meetings and presentations of new publishing products. The Russian publishers arranged ‘the expositions in expositions’ including the thematic sections – Book Graphics and Rare Handheld Books displayed the wonderful book illustrations and handmade pieces of book art.
